Position Overview

We’re looking for a finance researcher, analyst or writer knowledgable in private equity, mergers & acquisitions and/or finance.

Writing ability is a must, but the real depth of this role is your ability to research, develop, and synthesize complex financial topics. The content you help create will be sophisticated, with an incredibly high signal to noise ratio. (It should also be readable, in a tone that doesn’t make our readers decide to take a nap.)

If you’re a competent finance student searching for a paid opportunity to flex your technical knowledge and test your M&A chops, you’d be perfect for this role.

Deliverables will include 1-2 written pieces per week between 400 and 750 words. We’re a fast-growing company, so it’s likely there will be opportunity to expand this scope over time if the fit is right.

You’ll ghostwrite this content with the help of an editor and it will make its way to our newsletters and X/Twitter brand accounts.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications

Here’s a list of primary skills we believe are necessary for this role:

• 2+ years experience around mergers and acquisitions, finance, or private equity. This experience can be through a university program, self-teaching, or employment.
• You already have at least 3-5 topic ideas in mind to write about after reading this job description
• Familiarity with private equity and M&A terminology and tactics (you should NOT have to google what a “strategic buyout” or “CIM“ is, for example)
• Familiarity with X/Twitter finance culture is a major plus (we will ask for a writing sample that fits this platform & avatar)
• Ability to meet deadlines & over-communicate with your editor
• Ability to incorporate feedback & constantly self-improve
