If you’re looking for a cushy corporate events gig where you sit back and build strategy decks all day, this isn’t it.

We’re building one of the most ambitious business communities in the world—and our events are the heartbeat of that mission. We don't do average. We don't do cookie-cutter. We create experiences that move people to take bold action.

This role is for someone who thrives under pressure, loves operational excellence, and sees every checklist as a challenge to beat, not a box to tick.

If you’re still reading, good. Let’s talk.

About Contrarian Thinking

Contrarian Thinking exists to challenge conventional paths to freedom. We're a community of operators, investors, and entrepreneurs helping thousands of people shift from employee to owner.

Our founder Codie Sanchez has built one of the most followed brands in business. And we’ve got the receipts:

  • 9M+ followers
  • 500K+ newsletter readers
  • 1,500+ paying members
  • Hundreds of millions in deals sourced, evaluated, and closed

At the core of that momentum? World-class events—virtual and live. From weekly calls to massive multi-day summits, our events drive connection, clarity, and conversions.

And now we need someone to own them.

The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of high-impact events that make our members say, “Damn… that was magical.”

You’ll be responsible for delivering unforgettable experiences—from virtual workshops and team-led calls to our flagship live events. You’ll manage timelines, budgets, vendors, and run-of-shows with ruthless precision, while building the infrastructure that lets us scale.

This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, no-excuses operator role with a clear growth path. You’ll work side-by-side with leadership to build the future of our events function.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Event Planning & Execution

  • Own end-to-end logistics for virtual, hybrid, and in-person events (weekly calls, workshops, retreats, and summits)
  • Lead everything from speaker onboarding to signage to emergency backup plans
  • Coordinate closely with marketing, community, and content teams to ensure event goals are aligned
  • Run the show on-site and online—you’re the last line of defense and the person everyone turns to when things get real

Budget & Financial Management

  • Build and manage event budgets from planning through reconciliation
  • Deliver 90%+ of events at or under budget
  • Ensure no event exceeds budget by more than 10% without written leadership approval
  • Track every line item, optimize spend, and negotiate like you’re spending your own money

Attendee Experience & Feedback

  • Design experiences that regularly score 4.8+ on post-event feedback surveys
  • Create and deploy standardized surveys after every event
  • Use feedback to improve every future event and raise the bar each time

Systems & Process Creation

  • Build and maintain SOPs, templates, checklists, and internal docs for everything events-related
  • Implement budget tracking tools and logistics workflows
  • Make sure every event becomes easier to run than the last

Strategic Growth & Team Planning

  • Propose new event formats that align with business and community growth
  • Support sponsor and exhibitor logistics (fulfillment, not sales)
  • Build and present a future-state staffing plan to grow the events function
  • Be a trusted voice in strategic planning sessions around programming and event expansion

What You Bring

  • 5–10 years of experience owning event execution (virtual + in-person)
  • You’ve run conferences, retreats, offsites, or summits—start to finish
  • Expert in timelines, vendors, budgets, and contingency planning
  • Calm under pressure, obsessed with details, and excellent with people
  • Clear communicator and strong internal collaborator
  • Bonus: experience with sponsors, exhibitor ops, or scaling events teams
  • Bonus: background in high-growth, high-standards environments (startups, agencies, media, etc.)

Location & Schedule

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Austin, TX.

You must either live in Austin or be willing to relocate within 60 days of hire.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary (based on experience)
  • Performance-based bonus tied to event success
  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage (100% paid for employees)
  • Unlimited PTO + 9 paid holidays
  • 401(k)
  • Free access to all courses, coaching, and community products
  • Learn deal-making and business buying from the best in the game
  • A mission you can be proud of: helping people become financially free

Note: We don’t list exact salaries here, but we offer competitive pay for top-tier performance, and we structure comp based on the experience and value you bring.
