What is Contrarian Thinking and what do we do?

We free minds and build bank accounts. We’re on a mission to help 1 million people become financially free and to create 100,000 small business owners. We’re a digital education and media startup that has amassed 6 million followers in 3 years—and we’re just getting started. Our weekly newsletter is read by over 600,000 subscribers. We also produce some of the best content in the finance niche on our YouTube channel (and Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok).99% of our content is 100% free. The other 1% is how we help people become expert deal makers so they can acquire a “boring business” that cashflows through our courses and 1,200+ person global community. We also have our own investment fund, Contrarian Thinking Capital.

Why Our Work Matters

The “Silver Tsunami” is in full effect with Baby Boomers retiring; their businesses need succession plans. Many Boomers are forced to either close or sell their businesses due to lack of interest from Millennials who want to pursue different careers. This presents an opportunity for us as we focus on acquiring “Boring Businesses”—the unsexy blue-collar businesses that everyone needs but no one thinks about.

The Contrarian Creed

These are the words we stand by:

  1. People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.
  2. Be a great f*cking human. Do what’s right even when it hurts.
  3. How you do anything is how you do everything.
  4. We do the dirty work.
  5. Your word is your contract.
  6. We are Archimedes; find your lever.
  7. Winners want pressure.
  8. We want your weird; better weird than boring.
  9. Your job isn’t done until THE job is done.
  10. Assumptions are for assholes; find the truth.
  11. Less words; more meaning.
  12. Even our notes are worth stealing; make every creation a mini-masterpiece.
  13. Show me your results; not your intentions.
